General French Baccalauréat (L, ES and S sections)

The French Baccalauréat degree opens the door to higher education studies.

University is the choice for the majority of general French Baccalauréat graduates. It is also possible to prepare university degrees, higher technical degrees in many different fields (Industrial, commercial, agricultural ...), specialised school diplomas or to integrate preparatory classes to elite schools (literary, business, engineering schools).

The Literary section of the Baccalauréat (Bac L) requires an analytical mind as well as a taste for literature, languages, history, geography and arts.

Its goal is to establish a literary culture based on analysis and argumentation, but it also helps develop a critical thinking reinforced by the teaching of philosophy.

Prospects after a Bac L graduation : employment in education, documentation, communication, journalism, publishing, languages, law or arts.

The Economic and Social section of the Baccalauréat (Bac ES) requires a special attention to the socio-economic environment and current events as well as a strong taste for history, geography, mathematics, languages.

Its goal is to establish an economic culture based on an analytical mind.

Prospects after a Bac ES graduation : opportunities in management, business, communication, accounting, teaching, social...

The scientific section of the Baccalauréat (Bac S) involves building abstraction potentials, rigor, reasoning and taste for experimentations.

Its goal is to develop a real scientific culture based on scientific knowledge and experimental approach to science.

Prospects after a Bac S graduation : opportunities in research and industrial production, health, business management, education...
